For the first time in my life I've dyed my own fabric. I visited my mum a while ago, and when we were out walking we picked some Parmelia Saxatilis (English name?). We didn't get enough to make that red-brown colour that is famous for Parmelia Saxatilis, but we managed to get some colour out of it! We only dyed a small piece of fabric that later became a small pouch for my mum, and I got a tiny sample. My idea is to save a sample piece of all yarns and fabric I dye so I know which colours are possible to dye if I want to buy syntetically dyed fabrics for my medieval clothing.
